ABOUT

How did I get to be so interesting?

Justin M. Borden currently resides near Raleigh, North Carolina and has a Bachelor’s in English and Creative Writing. Growing up, he realized partying wasn't really his thing so he became a hopeless geek (don't worry, now in recovery). He’s worked a number of jobs in his time, including soccer referee, film production team member and video game level designer. He currently works at a local hobby and board game shop (read as "nerd store"). He may or may not have been a frequent customer there prior to employment. In addition to North Carolina, he has lived for varying amounts of time in Texas, Alabama and Africa. He also speaks rudimentary Portuguese (thanks to his time in Africa).

Justin considers reality immensely boring and so focuses his work on the imaginative and the fantastic. He loves both science fiction and fantasy and writes in both genres. Because of the strong influence of belief and religion in his younger years and current life, his works often includes themes of faith repaid, belief in something greater than oneself, and characters that try to be and do good in the world. He also believes it is important that everyone be converted to a firm belief that stuffed crust, pepperoni pizza is wonderful and delicious.

His first available fiction project is included as a supplement in the new Reckoners Board Game (now available for sale) by Nauvoo Games. The book 'Untold Epics' will expand on Brandon Sanderson's Reckoners universe, detailing over 25 Epics from Newcago and beyond. Alex considers it an honor to have contributed to a Brandon Sanderson universe.
